Welcome Post from Dr. Andrew Brown

Welcome to my blog! I’m Dr. Andrew Brown, a Vascular Interventional Radiologist at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, and I’m thrilled to connect with you here.

In my role, I’ve had the privilege of working with innovative, minimally invasive treatments for conditions like deep vein thrombosis (DVT), complex blood clots, and liver cancer. Through advanced technologies, we’re able to make a real difference in patient outcomes. For example, the ClotTriever System enables us to remove even the most stubborn clots in a single session, minimizing the need for surgery and hospital stays. Our team also recently introduced radioembolization—a cutting-edge, targeted cancer treatment that delivers precise doses of radiation to liver tumors, offering hope and quality-of-life improvements for patients facing challenging diagnoses. Another exciting development is the use of the RevCore Thrombectomy Catheter for complex DVT cases, helping patients restore mobility and return to everyday activities they love.

I started this blog because, over the years, many patients have told me they first learned about my work online. This blog gives me a unique way to connect directly with patients, answer common questions, and share updates about the work we’re doing at St. Michael’s. Here, you’ll find stories, insights into the latest treatments, and practical tips on managing vein health.

Every day, I feel incredibly grateful for the chance to impact lives in such meaningful ways. Thank you for visiting, and I hope this blog offers you valuable insights into your health journey. Please explore, and feel free to reach out with any questions or comments—I’m here to help!ts.
