Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are swollen, twisted veins that you can see just under the surface of the skin, usually on the legs. They happen when the tiny valves inside your veins stop working properly. In healthy veins, these valves help keep blood flowing up toward your heart. But when they don’t close well, blood can pool in the vein, causing it to stretch, swell, and become varicose.
